Well, had my first (pun intended) crappy experience, at the World Series no less! I took my nine year old and we had good seats in a field box along the third base line. The first home run passed about 20 yards in front of us and exited the park just inside the foul pole about 30 yards away. We got there two hours early and watched batting practice. It was great.
I'm over a month out from reversal and have been doing really well (after a week of adjustment after surgery). I've been doing so well and eating a regular diet that I didn't give two thoughts about going to the game or watching what I eat or drink. I hadn't before noticed any triggers. However, I have been drinking prune juice at night, which has the effect of basically emptying my system and then no worries the next day. No prune juice today, obviously.
We got to the park and had hotdogs and popcorn for dinner before the game. It was a blast. Then, in the third inning, I started cramping. You know what happened next. The stadium was capacity, obviously, and the line to the bathroom was easily 50 deep most of the time, although it went amazingly fast. Had four BMs at the ballpark and had to clean seats of piss to sit down. I went back to my seat a couple of times but the churning would start again. Made it to the sixth before giving up.
I had a beer early on and I'm not a beer drinker. Not sure if my body has listened to what I've been teaching it and decided, "hey, it's 9pm, time to empty out," or the hot dog, popcorn and beer triggered the reaction. Either way, it sucked.
Cramped on the way home, but no emergencies, and am still emptying out. Had to break out the baby wipes and butt cream for the first time in a long time. Anyway, I feel like that dumbass Icarus who flew too close to the sun. I tempted fate and I lost. Great pregame and first three innings, though.
