3 Months Post Chemo

Postby Beckster » Fri Sep 22, 2017 9:33 am

Have to share.....

Just received my blood work for 3 months post chemo with Xeloda. :D :D :D :D All of my numbers went down to normal range, not high normal.... CEA dropped from 3.6 to 2.8! It is so "pretty" that I want to frame it! What a way to start the weekend!

I have been on a healthy diet and jogging 3-4 miles every morning.... I guess it is working!

You might not be able to run yet, but you can certainly walk! I found that this really helps both physically and mentally! I had HFS really bad on my feet and hands, but after a small dosage decrease, I was back to walking. Now that I am 3 months out of chemo, I can return to running. :D :D :D

I just ran 3 miles this morning. Feels so good to be able to go outside and do this again. With all the issues I have had with my digestive system since surgery I never thought I would be able to run again. I did walk on my treadmill during chemo, had to stay close to home because of diarrhea. Then after a few months I started to add some running intervals. Even with my neuropathy running feels so good. Just have to be careful I lift my feet so I don't trip. I find the more I move the better the neuropathy is. Not painful, just a weird numb/tingly feeling all the time. This summer I have actually been able to go outside and run without worrying about having to use the bathroom. It just makes my life feel normal again and I am living an ordinary day as before. Sometimes it brings tears of joy just thinking about it. I get emotional about the little things I never appreciated before cancer. Congrats on your bloodwork results. Love good news.
