Anyone here undergo SIRT?

Postby plastikos » Thu Sep 21, 2017 4:39 am

Hi all. I am about to undergo SIRT with Y90 next week for some tumors that seem stable on immunotherapy. Of course I prefer them to be non-existent thus the SIRT. The initial mapping showed disease is confined to segment VIII and the plan is to nuke it via the right hepatic artery. I stopped Pembro (Keytruda) about a month ago and plan is to restart post SIRT depending on liver function tests. It's a plan. Anyone here undergo SIRT, not neccesarily on immuno or chemo? Anything I should watch out for? What is the downtime like? I plan to give a lecture a week after the procedure if I am ok.

You can do a search for prior ColonTalk threads that discuss SIRT:

I never had SIRT, butt there are many people here who did have success with it.

Good luck with it and keep us posted,

Has anyone else tried SIRT while on immunotherapy with a PD1 inhibitor?

You may also find additional references under a search for :
SIR Spheres, SIR-Spheres, Thera Spheres
.... as the terminology is a bit variable

BUTT I believe you would have the majority of posts already included in the above search by JJH

Best wishes

Underwent SIRT yesterday. It was a bit more painful than I expected. Had to be sedated. Fine today except for some mild crampy back pain. Hope they nuked everything. Hope to get back on Pembro soon. It’s just that nobody is quite sure when to start it again.
