Positive news- Cancer free two years in

Postby Lydia666 » Wed Sep 13, 2017 10:03 pm

I just wanted to say that I am now 2 years since rectal surgery and i am cancer free. In my scan in May, there were a couple of lung spots under watch (i had a bad cold when i was scanned) but 4 months later the scan is clear.

I have a rare genetic mutation which predisposes me to multiple cancers, and indeed, i had thyroid cancer before rectal and breast cancer after rectal (minor comparing to the colorectal one), but i am cancer free of any type right now! And that deserves a glass of wine!

Of course, this cancer beast will be a thorn for me for whatever long I will live, but right now, i am hoping to give someone some hope that it's possible to beat 3 cancers, at least temporarily!!!

All my love to you all!

Congrats. Very encouraging and happy news for those who are still in battle. May I ask how do your lung spots just disappear by their own? No treatments but miracles? God bless!

I think the lung spots were not cancer to begin with. I had a scan while i had a terrible cold, i was coughing/ i think it was due to that. I had a similar experience at diagnosis. All is well though.

That is so awesome. So happy for you. I have been ned for two years now too. I also had a scan in May that showed a tiny lung nodule that my oncologist believes is scar tissue. A repeat scan 3 months later showed no growth of nodule which is a good thing as she told me cancerous lung nodules can double in size in 3-4 months. We will keep watching. Congrats again!
