Newly diagnosed

Postby kjtreadway » Sun Sep 10, 2017 3:28 pm

Hello All, I am newly diagnosed with colorectal cancer, in the sigmoid colon. I am 43 years young, adopted with no family health history. It is all a bit overwhelming. I have been looking around and noticed there is not a lot of colon cancer awareness merchandise. I did notice the Star necklace and I am in love with it. Does anyone know where I may purchase one? Thank you for being here, it feels good to know I am not alone.

Hi and welcome,

We do have merchandise that we sell here. When you sign in and before you hit colon talk, hit the colon talk at top right side of page. There it will direct you to various places including a place to shop for colon cancer type items.

Hope this helps,

43 years is young but it seems, from the tone of your post, that you have things more or less under control. Please feel free to ask questions about treatments, etc. if you have them.
06/23/17: ER rectal bleeding; Colonoscopy+Biopsy
07/13/17: Stage 3B rectal cancer. T3, N1b, M0. 5.2 x 4.5 x 4.3 cm. Lymphs: 6 x 4 mm, 8 x 6 mm, 5 x 5 mm.
Xeloda 3,400 mg/day + radiation 07/31 - 09/08.
CEA 2.7; halfway through treatment: 1.9; after treatment: 1.8.
MSS, KRAS G12D
10/06/17: 2.7 x 2.2 x 1.6 cm (-90%). Lymphs: 3 x 3 mm (-62.5%), 4 x 3 mm (-75%), 5 x 3 mm (-40%). 5.1 CM from AV.
Surgery: 10/30/17 LAR, Temp Ileostomy

We are in this together. I was diagnosed last Friday. I'm beside myself. I'm 48 and in shock and scared of the unknown. If you need a buddy, I'm here. I am meeting with two surgeons today.
48 year old female- mom of 2 (12,15)
DX stage 3c - 12/17 LN. T3
8" sigmoid resection Sept 22 2017
6.1cm tumor size
chemo -folfox 11/8 started
CEA level- 1.4 11/8
Hoping clean up chemo works!
