Hoping fo Colon Cancer?

Postby Sunwaterandsky » Wed Aug 23, 2017 2:30 am

Yesterday I went in for a wedge resection that ended up being a lobectomy. My surgeon says it is adenocarcinoma but not sure if it is a colon met or a primary lung nodule. I'll find out in the next few days.

Doc says that CC is better because it took six years to grow my little passenger. Lung cancer is much more aggressive So, here's hoping for Colon Cancer!

I am healing quickly and managed to talk them into letting me get up and move around. We don 't get oxi for pain here, I am on Tylenol extends! Seems to be working though!

Cheers,

I wish you well. My yearly ct scan showed a small 4mm lung nodule in April. When I spoke to oncologist and pulmonologist, they did not feel it was a met. Oncologist felt is was related to the auto immune disorder I'm being monitored for. I have much inflammation and scarring in my lungs, was found during ct scan after chemo. Was referred to pulmonologist and she didn't believe it was from the chemo, but an auto immune disorder that I prob already had and was found by chance, so being monitored checking for progression. They're not even sure which one it is because of lack of specific symptoms, and a lot of the symptoms overlap. Watching for Lupus, Sjogrens, Rheumatoid Arthritis, or Scleroderma. Did repeat scan in July and no change in size of nodule, but the pulmonologist doesn't believe it's a met either. Could be caused by auto immune disorder, past infection, or a new lung cancer. Too small to biopsy and pet scan won't pick it up so just have to watch. The mention of a new lung cancer was upsetting to me. I hope you fell better and the news is good.

 Any port ( powerport, that is) in a storm, I guess? Haha glad we all are able to joke about this stuff.

Glad you are on your feet and ready for whatever comes next. Hope it turns out to be as you wish and you can battle it back to NED.

I am still waiting for the results and feeling impatient waiting for results and for the chest tube to be removed. I am ready to go home but they like to keep you in here. Patience is not one of my virtues!!

Susie, I hope your news is good. It is hard to wait.

I got my results today and it is a colon cancer Met. I never thought I would be happy with that result. He says that it took six years to grow and has no lymph node involvement, so probably no chemo. Woohoo!

Cancer is never good news, but that's the best news for you. I'm so happy for you. Yes, I will continue to have
scans and hope it is just scar tissue or inflammation which my oncologist believes it is. But have to watch. Next scan is in October. Again, so happy for your news.
