What song(s) make you feel like a mighty, kick-ass warrior?
What is it that breaks the funk and cheers you up?
What song(s) entertain you while sittin' in the waiting room?
Or occupy your mind through treatments?
Or just... make you happy?
What's your playlist for strength?
For hope?
For Life.?.

AC/DC "Back In Black". If anything's gonna make you feel like a Bad-ass Warrior, this is it!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAgnJDJ ... qhJ2noHm6o
Listen. And try and tell me you don't feel freakin' invincible...

...And speaking of invincibility... How about Pat Benatar's "Invincible"!

She gave me an anthem, with this one.

Oh, and another great anthem? Rachel Platten with "Fight Song"

My cancer song is "Do you realize" by the Flaming Lips. I will always remember listening to that with tears in my eyes after learning that FOLFOX killed the tumor. Best drive home from MDA I've ever had. Maybe the best drive home from anywhere.

O/T Reply - Admittedly, this reply is a little bit off topic, but given the recent spate of rain storms around the country I thought I'd add a few comments about a favorite guitarist of mine from 1970's Creedence Clearwater Revival fame.

Who'll Stop The Rain?

John Fogerty

Long as I remember
The rain been comin' down
Clouds of mystery pourin'
Confusion on the ground

Good men through the ages
Tryin' to find the sun
And I wonder, still I wonder
Who'll stop the rain?

...
Have You Ever Seen The Rain?

Someone told me long ago
There's a calm before the storm
I know, it's been coming for some time.

When it's over, so they say
It'll rain a sunny day
I know, shining down like water

I wanna know, have you ever seen the rain?

I like Fogerty's songs about rain since they are basically allegorical in nature. Because of this I think most people can interpret the non-specific lyrics in a way that would be meaningful to themselves.

Anyone else have any music comments to share?

I gravitated to a lot of sad, dark stuff. Cathartic, I guess. But as far as upbeat or beautiful stuff was concerned:

Townes Van Zandt: “Mr. Mudd and Mr. Gold”

Brooke Annibale (criminally under-the-radar singer songwriter): “Patience”

Jonathan Richman: “Roadrunner” : )

And

Motörhead: “Ramones”

Not specific to cancer, really, but they helped.

OSM: Fogerty is incredible. Great, simple lead player/hook writer, great rock singer, great lyricist. One of the absolute best RnR songwriters. I am partial to his straight ahead rockers, like “Up Around the Band,” and “Fortunate Son,” but there are so many great songs to choose from.
