Hehe, I named my rescued husky from Italy «Atoq», which means «fox» in quechua. Then my first lundehund was named «Allco», which means «dog» in quechua. But here in Norway they always thought it was «alcohol» which is really bad :D Then I changed it in Aiko and named the cat Yuki (snow) to follow the same theme. And he is completely black.

I have started again running two days ago, 45 minutes and no problems at all. I hope to run 10 km in a race in September. And how is it going with your training?

Hi kiwiinoz

It's good to see you on-line again. Do you have any up-to-date photos of your collection of running shoes -- including those of Mrs Kiwi?? Also, I was wondering how your five-year evaluation went. I don't remember seeing any recent posts from you about this subject. Thanks.

I haven't really cooked eggplant since my university days.
As I remember it you have to salt it and let it sit for say 30 minutes, then rinse and cook as per your recipe. The salt is supposed to take any bitter, or young fruit taste away. Those left on the vine longer have a different taste.
Eggplant is part of the tomato family, so it's kind of like putting tomato sauce on tomato. ;)

Hi OSM

My Oncologist, after years of telling me he started the clock ticking from the last surgery, decided he liked the idea of 5 years from chemo. I am sure that next time I see him, he will extend that, but hey, I like the guy, and I now feel like a stranger in the hospital so I am good with that.

No shoe collections at the moment. I had too many pairs....a pair for running 30KM or more, a pair I really liked and couldn't get rid of, another pair for 5 KM, another pair for hills, and two pairs I didn't like, never wore, or grumped when I did, and I did a big cull. I have now got only two pairs for running, and 1 pair for the gym. Honestly, it was more Mrs Kiwi's idea as we had too many shoes.

I feel like I am now unqualified to comment much on the board. I just did stuff I liked in the vain attempt to reach NED, and I feel for everyone on this board that is currently struggling. I don't feel that my frivial comments will add much compared to the support that everyone gives each other.

How you are OSM?

Loved all of the photos!

Beautiful scenery Ben and that's an impressive eggplant there BS! Beautiful flowers and one very adorable dog!

My container garden is pitiful this year, I can count the cherry tomatoes I've harvested and so far not one cucumber but it's flowering so there's still hope!

How do you post a photo on here?

And confidentially, BS, I think you may be right, the apple is actually an asian pear.   Don't know how that happened since we weren't supposed to get one of those. Should be tasty though.

Best Wishes,
peanut

I've seen pictures of your Daughter Sister Nut, you have what it takes to grow anything that's beautiful !

BS:
Miss Chloe shines !

Miss Chloe looks stunningly BEAU-tiful, her coat radiant, and her soulful eyes glimmering with her experience of love and care.

Cowabunga to her . . . And to you. You are simply The Best fur-parent that any dog could hope for.

In looking at the photographs of Chloe, I cannot help but feel the gentle presence of my sweet tea-cup Maltese, Molly, who passed away this past December at the age of 16.

I think Miss Chloe and Molly would have been immediate friends if they had ever met, two peas in a pod.

I considered it a privilege to care for Molly during her final months. To care for her as she had so faithfully cared for me.

Molly was prescribed CBD oil to ease her pain, in conjunction with liquid buphenorphine. The CBD oil (coconut oil based) was tasty and to definately to her liking, easy to dose with a pediatric eye dropper. CBD has no psychotropic hallucinogens.

Miss Chloe will always be with you, an indelible pawprint on your heart.

I have a new little heartbeat - an 8 month old tea-cup Maltipoo named Abby. Abby is a petite 5 pounds, apricot and white in coloring, and an absolute gem. I feel whole again. I came to Abby by way of conversation with Molly’s breeder.

Thank You for sharing Miss Chloe’s photographs and update. Your postings and writings are heartwarming through and through.

Our companion pets offer immeasurable love and cuddles when facing a serious health challenge.

Sending a woof woof of friendship from Abby to Miss Chloe,
Karen

BS nice veggies. Good growing, makes me think of Brownbagger. Sure miss him and his beautiful garden. Your Chloe looks beautiful. My dear Harlee passed on June 2. I'm still dealing with her loss.

Peanut, Have you or your husband ever looked into SCCA Sports Car Club of America. Before kids, my DH and I were volunteers. Beautiful pic of DH and car.

I saw the tea cup pot and had a WTF moment (inspired by Risky Business) a month ago.
I blew $25 on a ceramic pot. That's just not like me.

Seriously I haven't bought anything that wasn't essential since last October.
I need a belt to hold my all pants up, but I haven't replaced them because I don't know if I'll gain the weight I've lost back.
My eyesight has been blasted by chemo but I haven't been to the optometrist because maybe it will come back or maybe I'll need more chemo and it will get worse.
And many more examples.

But I bought the tea cup. So that's good.

BS, Peanut, Mobrouser:
Lovely. Simply lovely. Gardening as art.

Being at one with nature, digging in moist soil, planting spindly seedlings and bulbs . . each are innately healing and soothing.

I appreciate being able to stop by this thread and enjoy your gardening adventures and musings on life. A lite pick-me-up. Keep it coming.
