Hi BS ,
You know I never knew that !!
There is a military tattoo in the Castle grounds in August and it’s spectacular. Fireworks are let off down the side of the Castle wall .
It’s worth a visit !!!

Can't copy the image peanut, but meant to comment on that pic.
Something a little more haunting than a little rain squall you captured there.
Those are some dark, angry clouds reaching down to rest on top of some dark, deep water w/rays of light appearing from the heavens shining down.
There's a lot going on in that pic. Good vs Evil?
You had better burn some sage in the house; clean out any lingering spirits!

Stu, I want to go where you go. Always so serene looking. I especially like the forefront & backdrop of the ruins.
The only castle I've visited was King Ludwig II, Lake Chiemsee, Bavaria, Germany. Remember Gold everywhere, Hall of Mirrors, beautiful grounds. Had to ferry across the lake to get there, then horse & carriage up to the palace.

You may be on to something there, BS. You can't really see in the pic because of the lighting, butt there's a bridge down there. The Mal Paso (bad crossing). Mal Paso creek is mostly dry and is regarded to be the northern edge of Big Sur. Clint Eastwood, our former neighbor, used to own the property adjacent to ours, a 200 acre ranch. He named his production company after the creek.

Image

Mal Paso creek bridge is similar in style to the more famous Bixby bridge, and ws built in 1935 for $24,000. Pic courtesy of internet.

So much for the fun facts of the day.

I kinda like fun facts. For a short while, Clint Eastwood's former wife had a reality show & I'm thinking the house/filming was on that ranch. Not sure when it was; 5 yrs ago maybe.

Not mine, but thought worth sharing what I received this morning from BFF. Headed for airport 5:30 a.m. approx 2hr drive Charlottesville, VA to Richmond, VA (southeast U.S. slammed w/storms). About 7" of snow. Planes delayed.

peanut...Your pics  I'm going to have to chew on those awhile
Looks like a "hog line" to me. :)

Growing my indoor amaryllis, paperwhites, hyacinth for a few weeks now. Hoping another couple of weeks will have blooms to share.

Good job, BS. I'd been puzzling over that photo since mob posted it. Also curious as to whether she is in the shot.
Love your winter blooms!

I have an amaryllis growing. I may have been a week short planting it as I don't think that the bloom will be open on Christmas Day. I've been taking pictures of it each day with the plan of turning them into a mini time delay video. We'll see how that goes.

Yes I am in the picture with Johnny Cash.
Back in the day Canada Trust named their ATMs Johnny Cash machines and he was there for the launch.
He and June did about a 5 song performance and then posed for pictures with different groups of Canada Trust staff.
My spouse worked for CT at the time so I was invited. Can you spot the non-banker in the picture? That would be me.
