No More Scans and I'm Sorta Kinda A Star

Postby NedPlease » Thu Aug 17, 2017 7:38 pm

Well, it's happened. Stage four and no more scans. July's scan showed no cancer and being NED since 2011, I was cut loose. Oncologist will see me in a year for I-don't-why really. I'm a little shaky about no more scans but if I research and find there's a need for such, I know where to find her.

At my last scope in March, my colorectal surgeon asked if I'd participate in an educational video for the hospital. Ok, I guess, but not until after the next scan so as not to jinx. So the scan was good and the film crew arrives at my home next week, after which, I travel an hour to the hospital to be filmed with two of my surgeons.

Plus the hospital magazine did a phone interview with me last week for its Spring issue. The last magazine cover featured Kathy Bates, and the one before, Amy Schumer. Doubtful I make the cover.

Anyway, folks, unimaginably good things can happen. Never did I think I'd be writing such wonderful craziness.
I am alive and, it would seem, truly well. Truly NED.

I pray for the same for each and every one of you.
Keep the faith.

Fondly,
N

BTW I didnt see any targeted therapy from your signature (maybe my mistake). Does that represent you are cure only by traditional chemo?
