Has anyone had a 2nd ostomy takedown?

Postby Doubletrouble » Sat Aug 12, 2017 10:20 pm

I have been faithfully reading this forum for over 2 years, and I appreciate the wealth of information you all offer. I am wondering if anyone has experienced having a 2nd ostomy takedown? Over a year ago I had an ileostomy takedown which went well until I developed a r.v. Fistula. I had to have a colostomy placed while undergoing several surgeries to repair the fistula. The fistula has now healed and I have the opportunity to have the colostomy reversed. I am concerned about how l will adjust to a 2nd takedown. I know that it's a toss up as to how my bowels will react. Just wondering if anyone has experienced this?

I have zero experience but am on my first ileostomy and am counting down the days to reversal. I know it can be challenging but I haaaate this bag. Not going to feel normal until it is gone. Cheers to a successful procedure.
