Coughing up Blood with Lung Mets??!!

Postby crazylife » Thu Aug 03, 2017 11:07 am

DH has a few tiny lung mets. So tiny they are t even being treated yet. He went to ER last night because he coughed up a mouth full of blood. All checked out ok, but doc said it can happen with mets.

Is this something we can expect? He also did have RFA about 8 weeks ago to one of the mets But would imagine bleeding would've happened weeks ago.

Would love any insight.

Put a call into his Onc office if you have not done so already. Also put in a call to the Dr.'s office that did the RFA procedure. In my very unmedical opinion, I suspect it has something to do with the RFA procedure.

Hope it's nothing serious.

Also not a qualified opinion but I have read where treatments (radiation, RFA) can have delayed or lasting effects weeks or months later. I am sure you are following up on this....as you should....but try not to worry as it may well be just what Lee suggested. I know for mysefil not worrying may not be possible, but as Basil recently said we can try and keep it 'low grade'.

Surgeon thinks it's the RFA too. He did say very uncommon to see effects two months out but CT showed nothing amiss. Blood work and vitals were great. Thinking to take a look down his throat to see if it's something there.

Scared the hell out of us! Thanks for the advice ❤️
