When did you get your first scan after starting chemo?

hey guys, just curious when you had your first scan after starting chemo. I'm at the half way point of my treatments and haven't had a scan since after my surgery and before starting chemo. That first scan was good except for 2 lymphnodes that lit up, but they thought those were reactive and not cancer. It's been about 4 months now since that scan and I'd like to make sure the chemo is working and that those lymphnodes were in fact not cancer. do you normally get a scan during treatment or do they wait until after you have finished all 12?

I had CT scan 1/2 through chemo and will have another when I finish. After that though, not again for 6 months which has me a bit freaked out.

After I started chemo my first scan was about 2 1/2 months in. Doc says about every 3 months here on out unless something changes.

I think it depends on your stage. I was stage II, had a scan before surgery and did not have my first scan until chemo was finished. I finished 6 months in June and had my first scan 3 weeks later.

Good to know, I'll ask about it on Monday. My onc mentioned something a while back about insurance only paying for a scan every 3 months and that I'd get another in August, but that was a few treatments ago and I haven't heard anything about it since.

I had a PET scan the week before starting chemo, then a CT about 2-1/2 months after starting chemo, then a scan every 3 months thereafter. My scans continue to rotate between PET and CT.
