Love that, CR Guy. I miss him everyday. There were so many folks on here whose passing hit me hard (Belle, Gaelen etc), but this is by far the worst. I hope this thread stays at the top and lives on and on. The outpouring of affection is not the least bit surprising. He was loved by all.

HORRIBLE! We joined this site about the same time (2010), and although we never met, he did respond to a few of my e-mails with helpful advice. Since he was alive much longer than would be expected, I assumed he would be living a normal life span with occasional bumps in the road.
I will remember him for the remainder of my life.

Reading this took my breath away, I was so shocked !
Eric joined the group just after me, I've known him from the start of his and my journey,
He cycled through his treatment, I did not, he carried on gardening, he told us about delicious Edamine beans (I'd never heard of them) & he chopped wood boy he chopped so much wood, & he cycled somemore ...he lived !
He was my colon cancer hero ! why has he gone & I'm still here !
I'm so very sad ! I'll always remember him even though we never met.
My heart breaks for his family, & I hope they know how much he was loved on this forum.....

This is very selfish, butt I'm gonna miss his garden pic. Erik knew how to grow a BEAUTIFUL garden. He inspired me to to grow tomatoes, egg plants and peppers. When ever I see a beautiful garden I will always think of him.

Rest in peace, dear Eric.

Know that you inspired many people in many ways,

So sorry to hear about Eric's passing. I'm another person who hasn't posted in years, but occasionally check in... and I was always happy to see any posts from BrownBagger. When I checked in yesterday and saw the news, it took my breath away. He was always someone I admired and looked up to in terms of dealing with his illness as well as living the most active, engaged life possible. My deepest condolences to all his loved ones. He left a legacy of kindness and vibrancy that will echo for a long, long time. Peace and comfort to all who are grieving his death.

OMG, Eric was one of my heros from my early days on this site. He was such a vibrant and active man - a great example for many of us. I was sure he would be one of the lucky ones who would beat the beast and die at a ripe old age. What a shock. I am so sorry to hear this.

RIP old friend and thank you for the help you gave along the way.

I am at a loss for words. I haven't been on here in a long time, but I do every now, and then read posts. When I read this my heart dropped. I'm still in shock! Rip Eric, this board will not be the same without you! ❤️

I too only check in anymore every month or so, busy with life which is kind of the whole point behind treatment, but I have always enjoyed Brownbagger's posts and over all decency.
