You can say that again. My husband was not supportive at all, even leaving the hospital during my LAR. He walked out on me right as I started adjuvant chemo. It was like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders.

My guess is that they just looked at status and not the happiness.
Shoveled 18 inches of snow off the driveway for 15 minutes. Son came over to relieve me and I worked on the roof. My fingers are very tingly now. I need to warm up for a bit. Some folks are without power and with property damage.

Either the hands/feet is getting worse or spending time clearing snow has made it worse. I'm pretty sure that it's the Xeloda as the Oxaliplatin-related stuff is slowly getting better. I can live with it at current levels but doing a lot of things is a nuisance with the tingles. I'm thinking of a one, two or three week chemo break to see if it goes away. I'm 8 days out from infusion so it's possible that it gets better but I'm really doubting it given the trajectory. It did not go away in the off-chemo week last.
Total of 90 minutes clearing snow. The part of the roof that I cleared is showing the shingles so this stuff is going to melt pretty fast. Perfect as I don't feel like clearing the upper roof. We're expecting another storm on Monday but I'm sure that at least 50% of the snow will be gone by then. It's possible that all of the snow will be gone by then as the temperatures will be very supportive.

I felt moderately better yesterday and today. More calories helped I think but the warmer weather (upper 30s) and a ton of fluids may have helped. And I'm getting farther from the infusion.

I took the Xeloda this morning with cool water. I have to be a little careful but I ate a lot yesterday and generally feel quite a bit better today. Probably about 80%. So the Oxaliplatin has mostly faded. I must be driving others nuts with the huge mood swings between feeling despondent and then gradually getting to something approaching normal. I ordered some running clothes because they were on deep discount and will order a Stealth Belt today. My wife is returning tomorrow and it will be great to have her back. We have another snowstorm on Tuesday coming with 5-8 inches expected but the temperatures are warm enough so that it won't be too much work to clear it.
I have a ton of errands to run today and remember that it's the return to standard time.

Yes. The nausea meds kept it away for three days and then it was bad.
No mineral infusions. I have Zofran but didn't take after reading the side-effects.

Wow, just read some of the less common and rare side effects of Zofran and very glad that I did not experience any of them. I'm not sure if I would have taken it either IF I had read about it ahead of time. I'm not sure how much it helped anyway. I was so sick last year by the time nausea hit me and in the hospital 10 days after my first Folfox infusion that I never read up on it and thankfully no nausea on current regimen. I scrutinize everything now and read all the fine print.

5FU - Failed twice - 1/17 and 3/17
Irinotecan + Cetuximab: 8/17
Irinotecan and Erbitux ran it's course. CEA rising
Primary tumor invaded tail of pancreas and spleen. Liver mets major concern
Y-90 radioembolization on 9/17/18, liver enzyymes have dropped. 10 Radiation treatments to primary tumor completed too. CT scan Nov to assess overall situation...

Re: Rectal cancer (Stage 3A) diagnosed late June 2017
I spent about 90 minutes clearing snow (driveway, roof, car) and may go out again. We had 15-18 inches and it's supposed to stop snowing tomorrow sometime. So I like to clear it off from time to time so I don't have it deep.
My wife is back from Singapore and she's really helpful though jet-lagged. I could go for the next infusion next week but I think that I want an extra week. Especially with another storm next week.
