If she's just doing Xeloda & radiation (no infusion), honestly that chemo, for me, was a cake walk. I didn't have any side effects. The radiation is likely going to be harder. Biggest thing is lotion lotion lotion - EVERYWHERE - after each radiation treatment and each night. And when I say everywhere, I mean it, every nook, cranny and crack. I used Cetaphil as it's not greasy and I took it with me to each radiation session and lathered up in the dressing room after. Also, no hard soaps, I used the Cetaphil bar - in that general area. Calmoseptine for when the razor blade phase begins (just not before any radiation session, only afterward). And lotomil (prescription anti-diarrheal). She should not be afraid to ask for pain pills for the razor blade phase, and a good side effect is it slows things down.
