I am very sorry to hear about this. My mom just got diagnosed back in Feb and is in stage 3A no spread to organs but has one lymph affected. I'm so sad that they are taking their precious time with her mapping and simulation and prob will start now july 5th with chemo/radiation. I'm scared that it will spread from that point. She is in pain right now, it's awful to see her so unhappy and in pain kinda like suffering. She can't go anywhere due to her bathroom issues and she just can't enjoy life like she used to.
I am praying for a full response after surgery. I researched for the best colorectal surgeon on the west coast at USC, we met already. She will do neoadjuvant chemotherapy for 6 weeks, than wait 2 months, than surgery in the fall. I go through my strong days and than weak days. I use to work in the cancer center, radiation oncology so I saw a lot of things. I'm writing on behalf of my mother who doesn't own a computer or can type to reach out. I'm getting a colonoscopy this july, a little nervous but need to get it done. Best wishes to you. Yes get a 2nd opinion. I had to switch my mom's insurance around to get her the best dr's. I quit my job to be with my mom this summer and she will be staying with me. I have all of her meds, hospital bed, home health care, toilet commode, pain meds, etc. you name it. Hang in there.. lots of prayers. xo
