Coming from the caregiver side right now
BTDT twice B4
bringing all my family support, vet med, caregiver, Stage IV CRC survivor experience to bear on this converstaion .....
This Could Be LONG ..........
been offline a few days ( daze ??
)
geriatric mother (89) slipped / fell / broke hip
5 hour drive away so I am here now having arrived the same afternoon as the incident.
She was scooped up by a multitude of friends / AmbuMedics and taken to local hosp her GP does ER rounds at
AND moved to major regional hosp same day after triage and xrays
Surgery next a.m. with the expert ortho honcho
She has great Doc and I would say out of 6 nurses ...5 are outstanding, 1 is very skilled but not warm and fuzzy
Having BEEN a patient a number of times I know, while it may be hard and seem impossible ...
Sometimes patients HAVE TO BE PATIENT
Mom is a tough old Viking lady, kicks ass and takes no prisoners ....
( where did I get that from
)
so here is ME who actually knows shit from shinola ...
trying to explain to her "Yes the surgery is done BUTT you need some hosp care / rest / rehab before you can go home "
WELL yada yada yada
wot about this
why am I here
why can't I heal at home
BECAUSE YOU CAN'T EVEN GET OUTTA THE EFFIN BED FOR EFF SAKE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
there, feel better now
I will tell her like it IS
sometimes even on this forum folks come here wanting to hear what they WANT to hear
and get pissed when they don't
suck it up buttercup !
LIFE is what it is, and while it may not always be what it seems
it IS STILL the life you are living
so find a way to deal with it and move forward
what IF ... ain't worth shit sometimes
WHAT IS ... is golden and we all need to embrace that and move on
in any and every way we can
THIS new Journey is gonna be a bee-atch
patience will be at a premium
JMO
thanx for lending a friendly ear homies
so this is CR back in the thick of things
and personally while I hate doing the CRC patient thing
I get that being a caregiver may sometimes, and in some ways, be WORSE than being the actual patient
Harmony y'all
CRguy always a Journey
