Partial pathology results

Postby Aqx99 » Thu Jun 22, 2017 3:23 pm

I received a call from my surgeon today with some of my pathology results. Obviously, my rectum was positive for cancer. In addition, 2 of 21 lymph nodes removed were positive for cancer. We are still waiting for the results on my ovaries. He said the tissue is not normal, but they can't tell what's wrong with it, so they sent them to an outside lab.

I can't remember, you had problems with them in the past. What was it?

For what it's worth, I had fertility issues, I could get pregnant, butt would always lose it. During my last pregnancy, GYN had to go in and take fetus out. Also tied my tubes at that point. Anyway following the surgery, he advised me to get a complete hysterectomy in about 10 years (since I was still having regular periods, he chose to keep everything in-DH would have told to take it all out if he had bothered to ask him). Anyway I always wanted to find out why he recommend that. We moved a few months later and I never saw him again. Butt I do believe, all my fertility drugs had a negative impact on my ovaries. I suspect he though they would turn cancerous down the road.

My rectal cancer surgeon was nice enough to take everything out during my surgery. I did not want to be a zipper down there.

Here's hoping it nothing serious and they got your ovaries out before they did something bad.

All the best,

I had polycystic ovarian syndrome. I have to wonder if PCOS plus radiation equals weird tissue. I'm just glad they are out of me, if they are so weird the normal pathology lab can't figure them out.
