fol wrote:thanks guys..any side effects of colonscopy ? is it painful ? doc said sedation..but that means injection right ?
It's moderately painful even without sedation.
In some countries colonoscopy without sedation is a norm.
The biggest risk is 0.1% to 0.5% chance of a colon perforation.
This is a reason colonoscopy is not done for the sake of entertainment.

No it would not.
Cancer can be missed in case of unskilled colonoscopist especially in case of inadequate "preparation".

It's OK to freak out.
Many people do this.
You just need to understand that this is not the end of your life.
fol wrote:given I did not have cancer symptoms like weight loss etc, how likely this to be cancerous ?
All these "cancer symptoms like weight loss etc,
" are for late stage cancer.
You want to identify it earlier to have a better chance of survival.
