For the newbie CRC patients and especially pre-surgery, why fool around with small steps?
sepis and 30 day OS [controls vs 200,000 iu vs 400,000 iu vitamin D3]
Here we may get a double whammy with megavitamin D3 with rapid initial loading - for the surgery, and immune function stimulation with a LEF+DIY immune cocktail for the cancer itself.
My wife had over 400,000 iu of vit D3 before her first surgery, and millions of iu by her second surgery a year later, along with the other supplements. She was not in prime condition for surgery at diagnosis, already down 2 notches. By conventional reckoning, she was considered inoperable for her second surgery, perhaps even more so afterwards (then "futility" on para aortic conglomerated clusters).
Slows CRC progression? In conjunction with metronomic chemo and other necessary immune adjuncts, really high dose D (cf Dr JJ Prendergast) may have helped shrink and dissolve some liver mets for us in the second year when she reached her highest levels. Our radiologist still marvels over this. Ditto for the peritoneal mets before first surgery.
In this war, success and survival need every advantage possible.
