My take on this is that there often are hardly any signs that indicate a presence of colon cancer. And although blood in stool is suspect, it is also easily caused by hemorrhoids or fissures. Moreover, when it is from anything further up in the colon, it is hardly visible. And although a lab test may better indicate any presence of blood, a colonoscopy is still needed to be conclusive. The most common advise that you'll find here, also will say to have a colonoscopy (and to stay off Google).
You already had one (and a sigmoidoscopy too) when you were worried in 2015, you said, and results were normal.
As you can see from my signature I had one at my request in 2015 too. In May (2017), my docs agreed with having a next one not earlier than 3-yrs later / in 2018. That was at my request with my history of advanced (stage IV) cancer.
I'd say: Relax; try to stop worrying.
And possibly work on your stool: eat fibers / make sure you drink enough.
Best wishes
Leon
