What do you drink during cold sensitivity?

what is your favorite room temperature drink? I try to do water when I can, but for some reason it seems to taste funny in chemo weeks. Gatorade lemon lime has been my go to drink so far, just curious what everyone else does and maybe looking for some alternatives.

Hey Tdubz--

Nothing worse than drinking room temperature water, it is just not refreshing when it's not cold. I would have a cup of OJ, but I would let it sit out for a while until it wasn't so cold and then if it started to hurt a little when I swallowed because it was still on the cooler side, I would just take tiny sips at a time. One can only drink so much tasteless room temperature water. I would also use those Mio type flavor boosters you squirt in to water, just that the water had to be room temp. Another way to get some fluids in you is soup/broth. I realize it may be heading in to summer wherever you are and the thought of soup or warm broth is not what you were thinking, but when you want something with flavor and not cold, it does the trick! Good luck! I have been reading many of your posts and following your ups and downs with chemo, you are doing well and hanging in there with everything. It's a tough roller coaster of emotions and physical effects, but you're still staying on the rails, you got this! :D

Hot chocolate
Squeezable kool aid (the kid kind)
Teas that were boiled but cooled by sitting on shelf for a bit
Milkshakes I let get melty and not icy cold anymore
Crystal lite single serve packs in a bottle of room temp water, the lemonade flavor

Good luck!

Room temp Snapple mango juice. Yummers.
I've microwaved coke or Dr pepper too and that was actually good.

I mostly sought something that would cut through the slimy lining of throat and mouth: things like room temperature water, tonic water, or coca cola. Freshly squeezed orange juice was also nice. Besides these, I tried anything likeable that I could think of, if only for a single sip.

I drink Lukozade as my back up but not too much. Tea, room temperature fruit juices and water at room temperature. Yes it's horrid but I push it in!
Hope you find something acceptable!

I used to take a glass of milk and a glass of oj and place them on my end table before my nap and drink them when they were warm
iced tea during chemo only

v8 and vitamin water is also very good warm along with dark chocolate ensure

was never able to drink coffee or soda during chemo

Room temp Guinness...everything else tastes like shit.

Honestly, water tasted like shit. I would advise trying different kinds of bottled water, try Figi, Dasani, Aquafina, etc. They all have a slightly different taste and one may be more tolerable than the others.=m but damn water was so hard to drink.

I kept a pitcher of water with a fruit holder thing in the middle in the fridge, and a glass of the water on the counter to warm up a bit. The little bit of fruit flavor made a big difference for me. The pitcher was something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0023UL86A/re ... 6348000801
