Holiday Success

Postby Swirdfish » Thu Jun 01, 2017 9:10 am

So after 8 weeks post reversal i took the plunge and booked a holiday. Armed with my immodium and Metamucil i took off to Bali Indoneaia after many attempts to board the 4 hour flight only due to the wife having the wrong passport. Long customs ques and lots of standing around and taxis and finally we arrived at our accommodation.

Only one time did i not take the above medication and i payed the price but new undies are cheap. After a ten day stay of all day sight seeing parachute boating zoos monkey parks ive had a blast and its time to go home.

Neourpathy is a bitch in the air conditioning and often numb but i can live with this.

Alot of stares due to the scares but hey it doessnt worry me as ive a fit body anyway hehhe.

I get tired so maybe my doctor can prescribe me some uppers. Anyone else on these.

I can basically eat whatever. Was such a good deserved holiday and ive many people to thank.

I wish so much you all can enjoy something similar. When you all finally get to this position go and enjoy yourselves.

Its such a burden on relationships work and takes it toll on thd body heavily.

I may not post so much i the future.
Wish u all well. I will always think of and pray for you all.

My husband got a prescription for Ritalin (Methylphenidate 5mg Tablets) from the palliative care nurse at his oncology office a couple weeks ago. I wake him up when I leave for work at 7:30 AM and he takes two, then goes back to sleep for awhile. When he wakes up, he has more energy, and feels more like being out and about. It does not give him jitters, and as long as he doesn't take any after 11 AM it does not keep him up at night. I was worried it might reduce his appetite, but so far it doesn't seem to be an issue.

Swirdfish,
Love the way you describe how the holiday was a success for you - like charging batteries?!?
I'm so happy for you :)
A holiday like that was what DH & I was hoping for when we went on our trip around 5 weeks after his liver surgery. For us sadly it was a disaster. I, the caregiver, was injured in a traffic accident (not my fault) three days in to our planned 14 days holiday. Hubby has since then been forced to be the caregiver.. This was in October 2016 and sadly I am still not back to 'me before' (a lot of fractures).
However - I do still recommend taking a holiday from surgeries and treatments, realizing we were just unlucky.
Thank you for sharing & All the best to you ! /L
