Had a wonderful birthday over the week-end. It was a very special day as it reminded of the difficult days in 2013 when my liver resection went bad and lead to problems. Remembered also how I then begged for another year to have the time to take our kids (in their 30s and 40s then) on a final holiday into the Africa that we (wife and myself) traveled so often and that we learned to enjoy so much. To have a final time to share and pass along memories, values and experiences.
How things have changed. After pathology came with the best possible news (pCR- no living cancer) only a few weeks later; that my cancer could possibly be beaten. And that all analyses and scans since have been good. But despite this all, scanxiety is still here and with review of the latest tests due Tuesday, I couldn't resist to have an anxious, quick digital peek in the files, an hour ago. Again good results, 3 1/2 yrs after the last resection and 4 1/2 yrs since Dx.
No indications of liver mets or other spreading
; all other exceptions (mainly cysts) stable too
; and again low (1.3) CEA!
With so much uncertainty and bad news on this board these days, I thought of sharing my luck and wish that all here find hope and success in beating the disease.
Regards and thank you all for being here
Leon
