Hospital visit

Postby C2WAVE2 » Fri May 26, 2017 6:43 am

Hi all,
Haven't post much on here, but appreciate this board, and all great people and info.
Had my tumor cut out on Tuesday, and everything went well.
tumor was deep in pelvise, and because of that and its size dr couldn't staple attachment back robotically, so cut a larger opening
They removed about half of rectum,4 inches?
And also about 4 inches of colon. They put te ieoloscopy bag , and I had a catheter, and IV for two days was on Liquid diet

Had some shaking in recovery, back at the room they had me on dilaudid IV, which helped with pain,
Next day the put me on toradol not sure if that did too much

I took people's advice and
Got walking the first night. With some help, and by next day I was walking on my own..

I glad to be going home today!, will be meeting Doctor next week for pathology report on tumor.

Wishing everybody the best, Chuck

Thanks all for good wishes, I got my pathology report yesterday, and feel like I dodged a bullet
Good news,
Looks like they got it all out, and it hasn't spread.. I know I'm not completely out of water, and will
have to keep an eye on it.. Dr. gave me a script to see an oncologist, i think it is, for that purpose...
Feeling less pain every day, can get out of bed pretty easy now...
Will go back to surgeon in six weeks and if things look like they healed up, will have bag reversal..
Best wishes,,, Chuck
