I live in Africa and became ill with both salmonella and an amoeba in the beginning of May. This was the first time that I got sick with this kind of bacteria. I saw my employers medical doctor there and he gave me medications to both kill the bacterias as well as the eggs.
A week ago, I started having more frequent bathroom trips. I flew back to America yesterday and I started getting diarrhea on the plane. The stewards gave me two Imodium tablets which made the 13 hour flight across the ocean tolerable. I won't take any more Imodium tablets now that I back in the US. I am going to try to find a doctor in the US who specializes in tropical diseases and how to treat them.
My 1 year colonoscopy is scheduled for June 1st. Will the salmonella and amoeba possible reoccurrence interfere with the colonoscopy?
