OP, if you haven't already, get a copy of the colonoscopy report, the radiologist's report from the CAT scant, and a CD of the cat scan images. Keep these in a folder at home; it is a very good idea to have a personal copy of all your medical records/history, especially if you end up moving cities/countries/continents.
You may have to go through 'medical records' to get these. I have had success going to the facility that did the CAT scan, and they have burned a CD and printed the radiologist's report on the spot.
It seems unusual that the gastro didn't give you any advice on how to deal with your new situation.
But our bodies sometimes change... for example my wife recently got pain in her upper back, bloating, and occasional abdominal pain. After a casual conversation with physician friend, we found out that she had suddenly become lactose-inolerant (at the age of 51).
Bring your reports to your primary doctor and see if they can work with you to find out why your bowel behavior has changed. Like others have mentioned, you might just need a dietary change.
