Hi Everyone,

Although I know I have been quiet on Colon Talk recently between serious medical issues & thus needing to focus my advocacy a bit due to logistical constraints... I know there are many people here - my first patient advocacy home!! - that may be curious to read the latest twists & turns in my Cancer Journey...

So I thought I would post a link to a very personal new blog entry... where I not only look forward with a medical plans update but also look back on how a very introverted oncology drug discovery scientist transformed into an patient-scientist-activist (first named "DK37"!!) eventually helping at least tens of thousands of CRC & cancer patients/caregivers worldwide. A completely ironic life path that has surprisingly truly been "A Wonderful Life" since my diagnosis - not in spite of my early-onset CRC but ironically because of it...

I will be praying that the SIRT goes well Tom. When I finally discovered that SIRT was available so close to home I brought my mother, but is was too late, she was too weak to undergo the procedure. :(

In hindsight, SIRT at diagnosis would have been the thing to do, but NOT ONE of her doctors even mentioned the existence of it. I only found it due to this forum, and Google.

Hi DK37. I appreciate so much the help and hope that you give me and others. I am praying that the SIRT therapy knocks out the cancer beast.

Hi andy21,

I have been to MSKCC for a second opinion consult. I decided to stay at UCSD because they have plenty of experience and resources for SIRT and due to my tumor burden, it is actually very hard for me to travel now...

Take care,
-DK

Try to use Corporate Angel network for flights, sometimes they work out well.
