Latest news on Larry...

Hi everyone!! I know I haven't been on in a really long time, things have been crazy. Was hospitalized with cellulitis all over my abdomen, was pretty worrisome because it was mainly in all of my surgical scars. Did IV antibiotics and a round of oral antibiotics, it cleared up pretty easily. Thankfully I called the doc and got in as soon as it showed up so we got it pretty early. I was so glad we did because I had a trip to Vegas scheduled and I was supposed to leave two days after I was admitted.

Made my trip and it was amazing! Didn't get to see everything I wanted to see so of course I have to go back :D

Now on to the Larry update:

They did a CT scan while I was in the hospital and Larry continues to shrink. My CEA has gone from 345 at the end of January to 7.3 according to the test on Tuesday.

I now have an appointment with the surgeon on the 16th! Hoping we get the surgery ball rolling so Larry can be served his eviction notice!!!

I am so thankful for Keytruda, it is the only treatment that has made any real progress in my fight against this wretched disease.

Beginning Folfox 1/2016 - Failed
Beginning Folfiri and vectibix 8/2016 — Failed
Beginning Folfirinox + Avastin 11/2016 - Failed
Beginning Keytruda 1/2017
CEA drop from 345 to 7.3 after starting immunotherapy
Lynch positive 3/2016

Newish here, but have been following your journey among others, you are the same age as my husband

Just wanted to say that is incredible news, I am so glad you have found something that works,

All the very best for you, I know there will be a day when you'll write and tell us here that Larry has been removed :D

ditto. Beans I am so HAPPY for you. You have worked so hard to get to this point. To be seeing a surgeon. AWESOME. Yes we can be little warped around here. How many people are happy about surgery :shock: Keep us posted on what say.

So glad to hear this! I was just searching for you last night since it had been awhile since i has seen you on here.
42yo At diagnosis. Female in BC, Canada
Dx: CC ascending
Right Hemi colectomy 06/16 clear margins
Adenocarcinoma 6cm High Grade
pT3 pN2a Stage 3
10 out of 16 lymph involved
MSI-h, Kras mut, Braf wild
Finished chemo Feb. 2017
PET scan showing active area April 2017
July 2017 CT showing LN mass and spread to other LN
Stage 4
Aug 2017 failed Fofiri
Sept 2017 keytruda scans every 3 months showing shrinkage and stability
November 2018 CT shows only 1 small tumour left
September 2019 clear CT finally NED!!!

I hope Larry's eviction notice us served smoothly and everything goes well. I'm excited but scared because this is major major surgery.
