Hi benben,
Best of Luck for tomorrow!
Maybe you will not feel any nausia what so ever.
My husband never did, even though he stopped taking the anti-nausia drugs. His apetite and taste palete was never affected by the chemo.

Noice! It got to the point when I was being treated that I told them not to let me see what my weight was because it would just frustrate me more.

Hi Benben, hope all goes well for tomorrow. I just finished my 4th treatment... it's no fun but bareable & better than I expected.
I feel pretty good & energetic most of the time .. except the 3 days of chemo & 2 days after... I take it easy as I found if I try to do anything too energetic I feel like crap.
Like others have said keep eating & keep the fluids up.
Good luck!

About 1.5 hours into oxaliplatin and leucovorin drips. Halfway. So far easy peasy. Just making me piss a lot. Every 30 minutes hauling my drip bags into bathroom.

Haha, same thing for me. Just as I'm getting comfortable and ready to go to sleep, I gotta get up and go to the bathroom. I actually enjoy chemo day, the pre meds make me nice and relaxed lol. Except for the pump, I'm already ready for this sucker to come off lol

Well round one is done, at least the in chair portion. Now I'm home wearing a 5FU pump in a camera bag of sorts.
Overall the treatment was a breeze. I only experienced one slight symptom. First bite of yogurt I ate while there I got some nerve sensation in a couple of upper molars. I had this occur again during dinner.
I felt nothing in hands/feet or anywhere else that was sensitive to cold, nor any tingling - nor any other side effect other than frequent urination - which I think is a good thing flushing the toxins out.
I came home and immediately started working and completed 2 hours of work followed by dinner. Gonna try to get this pump into the sports gear type thing they gave me as I don't like it slapping around as I tend to move a lot.
All bloodwork came back in the norms with exception of slighlty elevated blood sugar. Probably has a lot to do with I never used to eat any refined carbs and now with low residue diet that's like 80% of the diet... I had cream of wheat with brown sugar for breakfast and since my chemo didn't start until 10:15 ate egg/cheese scramble on bread before I went in. I got the zofran subscription squared away and have those pills handy now. My onc nurse for the day was awesome! She's a breast cancer survivor and she was absolutely great in details of what she was doing as well as sharing her own experience undergoing chemo in the same center just 2 years prior.

Hopefully treatment continues on much the same.

That's awesome that you don't have the cold sensitivity. I'm a cold drink guy, can't stand any warm drink, so drinking room temp water has been tough lol

My DH also had the very(!) frequent urination - for him that stopped after they stopped the steroids.
I hope you will not be affected, get hyperglycemia from the steroids, like my husband. It sounds as you are feeling fine/OK so far :)

I normally in with you on liking liquids on the cool side, but this morning I got some chilled filter water from the fridge. Filled up a water bottle and started drinking the cold water.
While I did not experience any cold sensitivity symptoms on hands or in mouth/throat - something about it just didn't feel smooth. I picked up a bottle that had been sitting at room temp and oddly enough seem to swallow down more smooth.

Thank you very much for the concern and info LPL. I looked over your posts and saw your husband was sitting at 295 prior to a treatment.
Mine by comparison was sitting at 127 yesterday. The Oncologist didn't even tell me it was a little high. My nurse did. She said they aren't concerned with it at all until it reaches 200.
At 200 they start to become concerned and may reduce some steroids. They become very concerned at 300+.

My blood sugars are most likely high due to the fact I've been eating high glucose index foods almost every meal. I'm going to try cutting them back a bit and introducing lower GL level foods.
It seems the chemo is having more of a constipating effect on me as my stools this morning were quite bulked up, so I feel like I might be able to introduce a little more fiber into the diet.

always looking for a balance.

Hey Tdubz.
Day two went smooth sailing. I had a bit of insomnia from 2:30-5:00pm, perhaps lingering steroid by product.
I had eaten a 1/3rd of a thc/cbd choco 2 hours prior to bed and that gave me about 4.5 hours uninterrupted sleep.
I also strapped the sports wrap pump pack on and placed the pump inside and strapped it around my abdomen. Much more secure than the camera pack slapping around.
I went back to full back sleep mode for the night. I'm usually more of a side sleeper.

Overnight drinking water and even during breakfast I still had the first bite syndrome effect. Again its mild with about 1-2 seconds of electrical sensation in the molars.
By lunch time it was gone. No more noticeable side effects at all.

At about the time first bite left, I did start to feel some minor nausea set in. Rather than take zofran or clo, I took a few drags of CBD from the vape.
Nausea symptoms stopped within 5 minutes. I walked 1 mile this morning and plan to do another 1-2 miles after the temps drop down. Still 90 degrees outside now.
I also was able to work a full day, albeit was a lighter day. I did fall asleep in my desk chair at the computer for about a half our as I was doing some remote server work.

Also only had 2 bowel movements today. Which is godsend from the 10-12 times a day a week ago a week or so ago.

All in all day 2 was major pleasant. Disconnect tomorrow

Oh and got CEA results back today.
Was 2.4 presurgery
now 1.7 right before first chemo treatment.

Already both in the normal range. Not sure it means much, but it's lower.

Port disconnect went fine on Wednesday - was fast.
I didn't feel exhausted right away, but 2 hours after I started to hit a wall.
Yesterday I was spent. Felt blah, and had little to no appetite. I forced myself to eat and drink as much water as possible.
Managed to do a little bit of work, but mostly slept in and out on the bed. Today feeling much better, even got a bit of appetite back.
Hoping for continued improval so I'm ready for round 2.

Pretty much right on Tdubz. I was down for just 1 day, back to 80% next and then pretty much full on from then on.
I worked everyday, including the 1 day of exhaustion, but just for 2 hours. I walked every day 2-4 miles, except for exhaustion day - I walked to mail box.
I did experience some mild chest pain around the port/liver/lung side a bit. I'm thinking it was just from lifting weights as I lifted the day before for about 30 minutes and had similar discomfort associated as when I first had port installed.
Perhaps I should limit the weight lifting to lifts that do not move the port.

Tomorrow is big day number 2 chemo session for me. I hope it will be as non-eventful as the first.
