Hello joe,

I used cannabis oil while going through treatment. I used it to treat nausea and as a sleep aid. I chose a high CBD and lower THC content. My oncologist prescribed Zofran and dexamethasone for the first 3 days of the treatment cycle - which I used - and there after I used the cannabis oil. I did not find the prescribed metoclopramide helpful for controlling nausea and it seemed to increase my diarrhea. I live in Canada and was able to get a prescription for medical marijuana.

Hi JoeCool1983,

Yes! I started using it to treat nausea on my first day of FOLFIRI treatment after nothing else worked (IV Emend, Zofran, dexamethasone, etc). I would get home, start to feel lousy, eat a small cannabis oil brownie (1/16 of an 8"x8" pan), and fall asleep. When I woke up, the nausea was gone and I felt closer to human after the good sleep. Highly recommended.

Another cancer friend made the brownies for me but I can get the breakdown if you're interested.

Hi there,

My mom just started chemo yesterday and her oncologist mentioned that many people have been finding relief with medical marijuana. We live in Oregon so it is legal both medically and recreationally, so I went to a store yesterday and got a low THC high CBD oil and something called a "vape pen".

My mom has never smoked marijuana in her life but is willing to try anything since the anti nausea meds have not really been helping. She tried it last night and was pleased. The low THC content meant she didn't feel any pyschoactive effects.

So far, so good, but we are early in the process. I will be following this post and update with our results.
Caregiver to my mom (73)
Dx Stage IV w/ liver, bone mets 4/14/17
Folfox started 4/25/17 - 8 rounds
Took a 6 week break to check some things off the bucket list - great response from chemo - everything shrunk and liver tumors virtually gone
CT scan 9/2017 showed spread to ovaries- laparoscopic surgery at MSK
Resumed Folfox 10/23/17 - 1 round
Surgery to remove primary tumor due to discomfort, 11/7/17. Trouble with recovery, numerous mets to abdomen area found
Passed 12/5/17

I am using a low thc high cbd oil to help my nausea as the mess from the oncologist weren't working well. I have found it works very well and takes all of the nausea away.
