O/T - Senior/ACCESS National Park Passes...great deal!

Postby weisssoccermom » Thu Apr 20, 2017 9:37 pm

Just an FYI for any of those that are interested. The National Parks is offering a DEAL right now for anyone age 62 or over. A LIFETIME pass is only $10 for at least the next few months ....at which time it will go up to $80 (and I'm not sure that that will be the same LIFETIME deal). You can go in person to a designated site and pay the $20 OR apply online ($20 fee total) and get the Park placard sent to you. The pass allows the holder AND three adults in the same car to get into all National Parks for free. It's a fantastic deal. So, even if you're not age 62+ but you have a spouse, mom, dad, etc. who ARE age 62 and older, you may want to consider getting your pass now. A lot of people who camp, travel in their RVs, etc. might be interested. We got one for my hubby....even though we aren't big travelers to National Parks. Who knows? Maybe someday we might do it. For $20, I wasn't going to pass up this deal!

There is also an ACCESS Pass which is available for FREE if you go to a designated site or for $10 in you apply online. This pass is available to anyone, regardless of age, who is permanently disabled. Like the Senior Pass, this is also a LIFETIME pass whose price may go up sometime this year. The website gives you all sorts of information as to what is considered a 'permanent disability' and how to go about obtaining this type of pass. You do NOT have to be receiving SSDI to receive this pass.

Remember you can always get one for the senior in your life....and then get in the car with them :D

If you're disabled or can get your doctor to write the note for you.....go for the ACCESS pass.
