my oncologist agrees with you all. She feels the long term prognosis is still good, and is still uncertain about whether we should do chemo or just observations. Surgery is a week or so, and we will decide the next steps once they've had a chance to look at the tissue around the tumor.

So all in all, things could be a lot worse. :)

Thinking of you. Figured you've had surgery recently, or about ready to. All the best for a NEDville outcome.

Post when you can.

Hi musicluvr,

If you are serious about this question, you might want to start your own thread. There have been many advancements in immunotherapy. Here is one example

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=49736

Sleen was given a few months to live, is NED today. That thread now includes many people on her same journey.

Maia, one of our resident researcher, does a lot of research in immunootherapy. But you need to have some certain info on the type of cancer cells you have. There is also DK37, and a few others like Grouseman.

There is a surgeon in Germany, Dr. Rollin I believe that has helped many people with multiple lung mets.

Check out the many posts in this forum, look for BeansMama. She has/had success with Keytruda. Has gone from no surgery to now seeing a surgeon. There are many others like her, check around. And remember, sometimes you have to think outside the box.

Good luck,

Hey,

I had my surgery on Friday the 12th. Everything went as best as could be hoped for. They didn't have to take very much lung (less than 5% of total lung capacity). I was expected to be in the hospital for 3 days, but was recovering so quickly, and without complication, they sent me home on Saturday. I have a little pain, but is controllable with Tylenol just once/day. I do need to sleep a lot. I honestly have little to complain about as far as the surgery goes.

Maybe the hardest part was trying to cram in visit from everyone who wanted to stop by the hospital is such a short period of time. :D Now it is just the slog of slow healing and waiting for the next steps.
