had a CT scan done with oral contrast and IV contrast. Everything seemed to be normal in the report except for some mildly enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes and region of the ileocecal valve normal except for a few
adjacent mildly prominent nodes. What does that mean? I was diagnosed with microscopic colitis in 2014. And since October 2016 I was hospitalized because I was really sick. I haven't been right diarrhea mostly and just overall feeling of unwell. My colonoscopy showed up normal this year and my endoscopy showed inflammation everywhere and I had an ulcer all biopsies came back normal what does my CT scan mean

Hello. Im in the same boat. My first post chemo CT scan showed mildly enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes. I had a PET scan a week later which showed two enlarged lymph nodes one was 1.2 mm and the other was .9 mm. Both showed minimal uptake and little if any metabolic activity. My Oncologist thinks they are most likely benign but wanted to try for a biopsy. I wasn't a candidate for the biopsy because they were too small. So we are now on a watch and wait period. I just scheduled my next CT scan for the beginning of June. I guess they can be enlarged for numerous different reasons, cancer only being one of them. For me I have diverticulitis and had Cdiff twice during chemo. Im hoping mine are enlarged for a benign reason and hopefully yours are too. Take care and God bless.

It's so hard waiting and not knowing. I think it's worse than just knowing what I'm up against and what the plan is. I'm getting a needle biopsy next week for an enlarged lymph node near my kidney. I'm worried they won't be able to biopsy and then I'll just be in limbo.
