My Beloved is gone

Erick died during a thunderstorm this morning. I am so thankful for the storm, because I had been sleeping & it woke me up. Because of that I noticed that his breathing started slowing and I was able to hold his hand for his last few breaths before he left this world.
DH - dx Dec 2014, stage IV with bladder & peritoneal involvement - non-resectable
Colostomy
FOLFOX failed
FOLFIRI failed
Tumor actually distending pelvic skin
Not a candidate for last-ditch pelvic exenteration
Stivarga finally begun 2/19/16
Tumor growing/fungating
Lonsurf started 11/18/16
Died 3/10/17

I'm so very sorry. I'm glad however that you were able to be with him and I know that would have meant so much to him as well.

I live near you. I am in Buford GA and the storm was so amazing ... it woke me up too.

The lightning was a beautiful show of his presence leaving this world behind.

Stage IIIB, T3N1bM0, 2/20 nodes, MSS, G2, KRAS (A146T), TP53, SMAD4, ERBB2, pre-surgical CEA 1.0
2/15 to 7/15: XELOX, celecoxib & many supplements
3/16: Ovarian mass ID'ed on US, rt ovary removed. Benign fibroid.
9/16: clean colonoscopy
3/17: clean CT
Post-chemo CEA: 3.0, 2.5, 2.3, 2.0, 1.6, 1.3, 1.8, 2.1, 1.8, 2.0, 1.8, 1.9, 1.7, 1.5, 1.6, 1.5, 1.4

11/15 CT Thickening of uterus
11/15 Biopsy - colon cancer
12/15 Complete hysterectomy.
2/16 Pelvic radiation - 25, brachytherapy - 3.
4/16 - 6/16 Xeloda
6/16 CT Several lung nodules less than 5 mm.
8/16 CT Nodules still present. Most stable. Some growth
10/16 CT Same ^. Onc recommends no tx :evil:
11/16 Transfer to UCSD Moores Cancer Center
12/16 Folfox + Avastin failed
2/17 Folfiri + Erbitux

I have been following your story. I'm soo sorry for your loss. May your husband rest in peace and may you find comfort amongst family and friends in the coming days.
Wife to DH/ Father of 6 (age 42) diagnosed Jan 2015 stage III CC of Sigmoid Colon (by surgeon) (Oncologist says Stage iv)
Satellite tumor deposit in mesentary
13/24 lymph nodes involved
CEA at dx: 3
MSS
Low Grade / Moderately Differentiated
Oxiliplatin reduced 20% last 2 infusions
Post chemo neuropathy treated with Gabapentin
Clear scans so far!!!
Started FOLFOX Feb 2015 / Finished Aug 2015
