16 Months Remission

Postby mymom » Wed Mar 08, 2017 3:49 pm

Hi all. Just wanted to let you know mom had another clean scan today. 16 months straight remission (she has had several remissions before but this is about 7 months the longest remission she has had). Mom was diagnosed at stage 4 in May 2011. This May will be her 6 year survival anniversary. She was very happy as am I. She did a fashion show last weekend for a local bridal shop- mother of the bride dresses. She looked amazing. We are so thankful. We never would have thought we would be here back in May 2011.

Always thinking of you all.

Best wishes
Lisa

Congratulations!!! I am so happy for you and your mom! Your post give many of us - especially Nancy's kids hope! Thank you! I still regret we didn't meet a few months ago because I did not check my email. I hope we can still have a chance for a coffee or pizza on one of future appointments in NY..

Absolutely fantastic news! :D :D :D She is racking up the months now. The longer she goes, the better her odds of staying NED.

I missed you guys again this time - I was there on Feb 20th. I met a couple of wonderful people in the waiting area. Unfortunately they were both newly diagnosed but it still felt great to be able to give them hope.

Tell your Mom 'hi' from one of her Pump Sisters! :D

Lisa -

Congrats and best Wishes on you Mom! Pete is now doing scans 4 months out.
His latest 12/2016 (next scan April) was clear again. We like you and others here
are VERY grateful to be in this position. When does it leap to 5 or 6 months for scans?

To all the newbies and people fighting this nasty disease.......In 2011 things looked very bleak for
Pete --- we kept fighting as a team and now in 2017 things are looking brighter than ever. Please
keep fighting........

Please PM me anytime with questions! We love you all!

P.S. Lisa, lets try for the BBQ this Spring! LOL!
