How beautiful that you could be with her when she passed into God's arms. You can rest easy that you were a wonderful, supportive daughter. I lost my father at 22 and I know it is hard. But even now, at 51, I feel him with me so often. Your Mother's influence, advise, love will be with you always and I know she will be watching you in your cap and gown!!! Natalie - I am so sorry to hear that your mom has passed on. Your post bring tears to my eyes because it was so beautiful that your mom had you and her family by her side. In the end isn't that what we all hope for? I have no doubt that your mom is in a wonderful place filled with love and will be watching you. The fact that you are going to go into oncology is so impressive. It is so hard to lose a parent especially your mom. I lost my mom about 17 years ago at the of 52. She was way too young to pass. She had lung cancer and lived 2 years past dx. I think of her all the time.

Special staging MRI - clinical staging stage 3b - T3N2M0 (unless spot proves to be met)
8/11 PET scan - spot lit up not nodes
8/16 Port in, 8/17 liver microwave abltn - spot gone
8/23 6 rds FOLFOX started
PET scan 10-13 43% red of tumor and no mets shown
Exam tumor greatly reduced. Surgery 12-14-16.
Clear margins, 7 out of 13 nodes positive. Tumor 2.1 cm
Kras wild, MMS, not MSI. 6 more rds FOLFOX

My deep deep conversations condolences.. my father is stage 4 and might go through the same scenario, Im also majored in biology and chemistry,yet I guess u r more fortunate than me as I had the same wish as urs to work in the oncology research after watching what's this monster is doing with people yet unfortunately I graduated 15 years back and can't change my career path now, will pray for u and please pray for me too
