The below trials are listed on the government clinical trial list and DK37s trial list and are located at the City of Hope in Duarte, Southern CA.
…NonTrial Onc applied for me to get into Oncolytic Virus NCT02636036 trial that DK37 was in (all spots are filled now), but when I went there for the interview with City Onc I somehow got talked into ..
…Chemo trial #NCT02393755, 39 recruits across the country (personally I think they are having a hard time filling these slots), with Capecitabine/Xeloda, Laboratory Biomarker Analysis, Nintedanib. NonTrial Onc agreed to it and I signed the papers.
...I backed out of the chemo trial, I really wanted an immo trial. Signed up for immunology trial #NCT02959437 Azacitidine, Pembrolizumab/Keytruda and Epacadostat. All screening requires a prior 14 day period without any therapy or treatment.
Let's hope I get this right…
They start out with 3 people in the trial and a waiting list. #1-3 start screening and if any fail, blood work, biopsy, CT, etc. they will be booted and #4 starts screening.
Once 3 people pass screening they start the trial. All are given the same low dose(1) and if all 3 pass without major side effects they then move onto a higher dose(2), repeated with a higher dose(3), etc., takes approx 6-8 weeks till max is reached. Those that pass will continue with treatment indefinitely unless a new CT shows that their cancer is progressing.
If one does not tolerate the next higher dose they are booted from the trial. A new group of 3 will then be started, cannot add a new person to start with higher doses.
In my case I was #5, but the day of my appointment the City Onc told me I could have a chemo treatment, so I did and they called the next day to say one of the 3 didn't pass screening and one other didn't look like they would pass so I would be next, but now I didn't have the 14 day treatment off so I've been put into the #2 cohort?, second group of 3 and would be needed in 6-8 weeks, so my last chemo will have to be 03/30/17.
Due to my having COPD and emphysema I have an appointment with a Thoracic Surgeon on Feb 23 at City for an evaluation to see if it's safe to take a biopsy.
I have 38 pages of the consent forms that lists all of the side effects and doses if anyone wants to know more specifics that aren't listed on the gov trial page, let me know and I can post some. If any of you know about the 3 drugs being used, let me know please.
This is a Phase I-2 trial and if I pass screening I'm hoping it will help me and if not, then I'm helping for the CRC cause.
