My friend Delinda2 has left us.

Postby zx10guy » Mon Feb 13, 2017 8:13 am

I don't even know how to put this in words. I just found out forum member Delinda2 has left us. She passed away on February 5th. To show you the type of person she is/was, last year she reached out to me when I was not doing well emotionally. We developed a friendship over PMs which turned into emails and eventually talking on the phone. She was there to listen to me about all the family issues I've been having. We talked about me flying out to Washington to visit. Unfortunately, this wasn't meant to be. After the surgery she had last year where the doctors thought it was a new primary turned out to be a recurrence. She developed complications afterward with follow up treatment ultimately with her cancer coming back in a very aggressive manner. She was placed under hospice a couple months ago. Through all of this, she was still able to crack jokes with me to make me laugh a little.

I'm so happy I was able to talk to her one last time during the Christmas holidays. She spent time talking to me despite being very tired. During that phone call, I said I would send a picture of my daughter to her as she always wanted to have grand children. I sent one a few weeks back. Delinda, I hope you were able to see it. I was only able to communicate with her one last time a few weeks ago briefly through text messages.

Delinda, I hope and know you're in a better place now. I am forever grateful that you took the time to reach out to a total stranger to instill your positive energy. I hope we will eventually meet on the other side.

Lot's of love from your friend. You'll be severely missed.

I saw the title of this post earlier and couldn't get myself to open it... I'm so sorry.
zx10guy, I can feel the pain and the emotion, and your friendship in your words. I myself developed quite friendship, with several members of this forum, some of them are not longer with us. I had not the pleasure of meeting them. And however, I consider many of them amongst the better friends I ever had . I still miss them, here and there.
Beyond the pain... how great you had each other, how good you got to be friends!
Sending love your way.
