Every since the we got the news of my dad's liver met, I've been clinging to the fact that there was only one small met in his liver, so it was Stage IVa. There seems to be quite a few people around who are managing Stage IVa nicely (relatively speaking), with long NED periods.
Well, today we lost our "a" and became plain old Stage IV: a pre-op scan came back with an 8mm nodule on his lung
Can anyone explain what this might change in terms of treatment? He is scheduled for liver surgery next week, so I assume that will go ahead? Do they usually resection a lung spot if there's just one?
It's so hard to keep positive when the line keeps moving!
Thanks,
Sarah
