Waking up in intensive care

Postby justin case » Thu Feb 02, 2017 9:07 pm

5 years ago, today I woke up in intensive care with my new friend, the bag! It seems ages ago since then as, 2 weeks later, I was vomiting what looked like lime green Jello shots. Yes, the surgeon twisted my guts and caused a kink.... He then felt responsible for my plight, and decided to reverse me in 3 weeks. 5 years later, I'm ready to celebrate the 5 year,( birthday), the statistics thought were unreachable! If you do the recommended protocols, you can beat this. Early detection is crucial for this outcome, get scoped !
Probably a little over indulged,
Michael
7/11 diagnosed Stage 2 colon and rectal cancer
chemo/rad
lar/temp ilio
Reversal & port removal
21 round of chemo Folfox 9tx, 5fu 12 tx

Congratulations! Remember to give some credit to Lady Luck. For those who have had recurrences, there is seldom blame for doing something "wrong." Good care and diligence stacks the odds better in our favor, but they are still in the end...odds. We are all rolling the dice here, every day.
