Scope today 2 years out

Postby CLD » Tue Jan 31, 2017 9:24 pm

DH had colonoscopy today after uneventful prep. Dr found 1 3mm polyp in his descending colon, so another scope will be done next year. Glad the dr wanted to see him after 1 year instead of 3. The port is scheduled to come out mon. So our journey is moving forward in a way I never imagined 2 years ago. Thinking of you all...

Just a few questions:Did they give you a written report of the results? How far away from the original tumor was this new polyp found? What type of polyp was it? Sessile? Pedunculated? Did they tattoo the location of the new polyp so that next time they can tell where it had been? Will they give you the results of the biopsy of the removed polyp? When?

In situations like this I usually try to get as much information as possible from the doctors before their memories fade. This is in case there are problems later on when you need to know what actually happened in this colonoscopy.

(I assume that this was a full colonoscopy all the way to the end of the colon and not just a sigmoidoscopy of the left side.)

2 years. I'm glad you are here to remind me.
Oncologist had asked us if GI doc has called for colonoscopy yet? He hasn't, & I have already forgotten again !! I better hurry & set it up before I forget again :(

Not sure if GI even wanted one in a year. I'm glad your hubby got his tho. I hope the port removal goes good. It sounds like an outpatient thing? I bet he is excited anyways. So it was just a polyp? Not precancerous or anything. Good luck Monday
