Maybe give us a bit more info :
why is it being delayed ? blood counts WBC / platelets / RBCs ?
other issues ?
what chemo is being given ?
how many cycles have you had ?
what is your Oncs plan or advice ?

Best wishes and welcome to the forum

IMO your WBC is really low and I'd say your chemo was stopped due to the low WBC. My Onc says if mine were to reach 1. he would put me in the hospital. I now get 3 Neupogen shots every other week to help build more white blood cells. I have blood drawn bi-weekly at Quest Diagnostics, I'm white, a senior and a female, last test Jan 6, my WBC normal range is 3.8-10.8/last actual was 4.4 so I'm in the safe range now after a few months of being in the 2 and 3 range but still taking the shots to boost it more.

Please talk to your Onc and get some answers of why and especially what are the plans to increase WBC?

Prayers and hugs to you...

Yes I had multiple delays throughout treatment due to low neutrophils . 7th cycle delayed for a week, then 8th cycle delayed by two weeks with a 20% dose reduction going forward. I didn't have the option of boosting my counts with neupogen etc as in Australia its not covered by the PBS (I think its only covered if you are stage 4). I was told by my onc that there was no difference between waiting it out or getting the shots, that I had already received a large amount of chemo and not to worry. It is certainly difficult not to worry, I wanted to power on and get my treatment over with, the delays were depressing but at the same time it was nice having a break.

When I had FOLFOX I was delayed 3 or 4 times, once by 2 weeks due to low neutrophils, mine got down to 0.69 at their lowest. the Onc ended up,reducing the dosage of the Oxy to help them improve.

The biggest thing is to be careful when you are out of your house, with a 0.8 level you are extremely susceptible to germs and infections.

I have had chemo delayed due to low counts several times. My old oncologist put me on neulasta after the first time and I didn't delay again with him.

My new oncologist doesn't like to use that type of medication if he can avoid it so I had several delays, some were multiple weeks. It finally got to the point where he decided to start me on neupogen. My counts were really low and I was getting close to needing a blood transfusion.

I will add you to my prayer list.

I was delayed a few times because of low neutrophil. I know what you mean about being scared. My inc didn't really say that it could affect outcome. I had a hard time mentally though. Getting psyched up for chemo and then being told you can't have it is so disappointing. Eat well, rest and enjoy your few extra days off.

Once again chemo delayed. Low counts again last time they gave me nulesta? After treatment and it sent my wc to 13 now it's at 2. So maybe treatment #7 will be Tuesday. Lowing treatments by 20% if that doesn't help my nausea side effects and low counts they will remove oxi all together. Hoping to get through this soon. Looking forward to reconnect.
