I am also going to do my best to encourage everyone to get a colonoscopy

I am so very sorry for your loss hun. I had to fight with two doctors to get my colonoscopy approved! I am 39 and they wanted me to wait after I let them know about my mom's rectal cancer 3A. When I told them I had bleeding hemmy's and i had something bulging out of my ass a couple of years ago which was the MOST painful thing I have encountered in my life, they finally said it was okay..

I am also speaking on behalf of my mother, who is very passive, and never listens. She just mentioned to me like last week, that her general. dr. advised her to get a colonoscopy but she declined and that was 3 years ago! If she would have gotten it 3 years ago then maybe it would have stage1. I just remember my mom in a lot of stomach pain, heaving over, and the pain would go away and that was 3 years ago. I am so upset at her that she would ignore the dr. orders and she just thought it was hemmy's. I didn't know this, but colocrectal cancer is only detected by a colonscopy so why don't they make the age at 40 and not 50 because younger people are getting it more often. Also why only get once in 10 years instead of every 4 years like my mom's GI dr mentioned to me. Also the CT, MRI, PET SCANS can literally scan and not detect the tumor. Hugs friend.. get a colonoscopy. I am nervous, I have the prep just lagging on making the appt! :(
