Thank you for all your support

Postby Pebblesgrgrma » Mon Jan 09, 2017 12:42 am

To all of my dear, new found friends. My heart is breaking and tears falling because my dad passed away at 5:10 pm today. Jan 8, 2017.
I will continue to read your posts on here that I haven't got to finish yet. . I am also going to do my best to encourage everyone to get a colonoscopy. If my dad had done that a year ago he probably would not have went thru the hell he did the past 3 months. He was already stage IV and mets to his liver and lympnodes when it was found when needing to find the reason for so many blood transfusions after dialysis. There was nothing to help him then. I don't know what I will do without him.
Are there any colon cancer awareness groups that work to spread the word on how this cancer spreads? I have seen all the ads about it but never thought it was THAT important until now. The only reason I had one was to save money on our health insurance a couple years ago. I just didn't understand and I am sure there are many like me.
Thanks again for your friendship and answering my questions.
God Bless you.

I am so very sorry for your loss pebbles, my deepest condolences to you and your family.

Regarding your other questions, I am not sure if there is a group established, but perhaps starting a new one in your dad's name would be something of interest to you. There can never be too much education about this disease.

Keeping you and your family in my prayers.

So deeply sorry for you loss, Linda. The universe knows that in these two months you have made everything, from taking care daily for every practical issue concerning your dad's care, to reading carefully, getting informed about how to make that care better. That is love and, as your dad's love for you, it stays with you forever.

I am so sorry for your loss. And you are right, there should be more awareness about the safety and ease of colonoscopies, and that it is not this scary/humiliating procedure. I missed my first one, a bit because of all the misconceptions.
