Traveler101 all over again?

Postby esk2poo » Wed Jan 04, 2017 6:47 pm

I have waited for now to post and sorry if this rambles on. Scans this coming Saturday for neck and lungs. When I lost my job a couple of years ago, I had to go on Obamacare. My original onc did not participate so he referred me to another. I had to fight with the guy just to get the lower CT this year and that was after I walked out of his office and my wife talked to him. He came out to the waiting room to bring me back in.

11/11/2016, while going to take a shower, I noticed a golf ball sticking out where the right supraclavicular nodes are. Only know the date as it was one week after my mom passed and it was my wedding anniversary. Just signed up for my work insurance during open enrollment and double checked to make sure my old onc was in the plan. Appointment was today and had the labs first, he heard my dry cough that's continually gotten worse for the last month, and felt the bugger. Didn't say anything of course but wrote the orders. The radiology I use is in the same building so I stopped by to schedule. Should have the precert tomorrow. While looking up my records, haven't had any type of chest X rays or scans since 2013. My fault, I should have pushed for them but that's in the past now. I should have known better. I will update this post when I hear something.

For those past treatment, if you are not satisfied with the testing or lack of, be that damn squeecky wheel.

So sorry to hear you're facing this scare, esk2poo, but NO, no Traveler101 all over again. If you meant it about somehow follow-up missing something, it might be but you do know this happens even to those looking scans each 3 months, with eagle eyes. Don't blame yourself. Worse case scenario, yes, it's a recurrence BUT you are YOU, and these are other times!
Sending strong thoughts your way. Whatever it's going on, you have your friends here.

Bumping this....... I'm so concerned for Allen. He's on other forums and hasn't posted on those either. Does anyone know how we might check on him?

He once mentioned having a medical degree and in 2012 was dx'd with bladder cancer in situi. He'd also had melanoma two times. I'm just very concerned about him.
