Andy,

So sorry that I haven't been in touch for a while. It has been a pretty hectic year.

I am doing ok! I had two recurrences this year, one in my liver and one in my peritoneal. But my wonderful doctors at MSKCC gave me RFA and cytoreductive surgery. So I am back on The HAI pump chemo and the fulfiri. My last scans from dec. are good.

Thank you for checking in on me. And Happy Holidays to you and your family!

Ziggy, since you're in California, you maybe want to check focused ultrasound for the bone mets --it's not radiation, and you can repeat it. You have it City of Hope, Stanford and University of CA San Francisco.

Here: https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT01833806

I'll bump the post about MRI-guided FUS for you.

Ziggy, if you dont mind me asking, have you had metastatic prostate cancer since 2002, or did it just recently go metastatic? If they have controlled it for 14 years, Im very curious as to what kind of treatments/surgeries have you had for the prostate cancer. I only ask because I recently lost my uncle to prostate cancer, but he only survived for about 3 years after diagnosis-- I think he was not treated properly in the beginning, but I dont know if he was metastatic upon dx or not. He did undergo a lot of spot radiation for bone pain and it did help with symptoms.

Thanks,
Josh

Sha, I was looking for news about you too. I'm sorry to hear about the recurrences, but happy to hear our wonderful team at MSKCC were on their game and eliminated those little bastards! So great to hear your last scans were good! :D I still have my HAI pump -- in November I celebrated five years of a clear liver! Three months was as far out as I could see for a long, long time, so stay strong.

I know nothing, Jon Snow, but CrystalD wrote this last December and if you go to the thread you'll
find an image that links to her photobucket account. Might be info on there about what state she lived in - I
can't open the website myself. She did share that she had longterm issues with agoraphobia and panic attacks and
was quite isolated. May not have been folks around to get back to the forum since May 2016 as to when or if CrystalD
has left the building..

I'm Spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this Year

I see the countless Christmas trees,
Around the world below.
With tiny lights, like heaven's stars,
Reflecting on the snow.

The sight is so spectacular,
Please wipe away that tear.
For I'm spending Christmas,
With Jesus Christ this year.

I hear the many Christmas songs,
That people hold so dear.
But the sounds of music can't compare,
With the Christmas choir up here.

For I have no words to tell you,
The joy their voices bring.
For it is beyond description,
To hear the angels sing.

I know how much you miss me,
I see the pain inside your heart,
But I am not so far away,
we are really not apart.

So be happy for me, dear ones,
you know I hold you dear,
And be glad I’m spending Christmas,
with Jesus Christ this year.

I send you each a special gift,
from my heavenly home above,
I send you each a memory,
of my undying love.

For after all “Love” is the gift,
more precious than pure gold,
It was always most important,
in the stories Jesus told.

So please love and help each other,
as my Father said to do,
For I cannot count the blessings,
or the love He has for you.

So have a Merry Christmas,
and wipe away that tear,
For I am spending Christmas,
with Jesus Christ this year.

I can't tell you of the splendor,
Or the peace here in this place.
Can you just imagine Christmas,
With our Savior, face to face?

I'll ask Him to light your spirit,
As I tell Him of your love.
So then pray one for another,
As you lift your eyes above.

Please let your hearts be joyful,
And let your spirit sing.
For I'm Spending Christmas in Heaven,
And I'm walking with the King.

Author: Wanda Bencke

Prayers for all those who are spending Christmas alone — for those who are spending their Christmas without loved ones who have gone on to be with Christ whose birthday we celebrate; those who are miles away from cherished loved ones; and for those now estranged from friends or family. May solace be found in the sweet memory of Christmases past and the hope of future brighter Christmases. May the love and assurance of our Lord and Savior surround them. - CrystalD, Dec 24 2015

Ziggy,

I'm so sorry that you're having such an awful time with bone mets and metastatic prostate cancer!*hugs* I hope something can be done to shrink the bone mets, slow down the prostrate cancer and something to help with your pain!*hugs*
