Scan results...scared
Tomorrow will be the day my mom get her CT scan result which she took last week. I hate the waiting part. It's just so nerve wrecking and I'm scared of what is to come. What makes it worse is that her CEA levels had rose a little bit from 27 to 33. It took months just to have the CEA levels drop from the 50's and to have it rise again scares me. I can't help but have these bad thoughts and I really hope I won't hear the sentence "sadly this isn't working". What makes this scarier is that the past few days she's been saying that her stomach feels a little weird and one night she had some pain on her right side for a few minutes. I'm just hoping and praying for the best and that we can continue this treatment for as long as possible and that it can help her get surgery. I'm sorry for the rant, just had to get this off my chest. Hopefully everything will be okay. I also wish everyone on here the best of luck as well ❤️ Prayers for everybody

Adding your mom to my prayer list also. We have scans today and I agree on how hard the waiting is. Barely slept last night and just want to fast forward today to good news for all of please!

Sadly the vectibix isn't working, the tumors grew bigger in her Lungs and abdominal area. Still progression of disease. Her lab however came back really good. No low pallet or any of that sort. Now the doctor wants to put her on stivarga, which scares me since the stats for that isn't great and it's usually considered a last treatment. To prolong life as long as possible. Hopefully I can talk to him about other options avaliable.

I am sorry.
Stivarga isn't completely awful for everyone, and there are some who have long periods of success with it. It's a good idea to find out about all options, though. There may be something else. Lonsurf should also be an option.
