5 years ago ... The dreaded diagnosis

Postby Jimswife » Mon Oct 03, 2016 5:11 am

3rd October 2011 my husband came home and told me he had cancer ..... All tests since have shown all clear , he will be due to go back soon for his routine bloods and possibly a last scan early in the new year , the oncologist has said he will continue to see him him every 6 months until he reaches 10 years cancer free ( fingers crossed he stays clear ) it's been a crazy 5 years with lows n highs along the way ..... I made a promise to myself to post every milestone here as this is were I first came in the early days scouring for stories of hope x

Wonderful news Victoria! I'm so happy for you all!
I remember when Jim was diagnosed and that you were looking for hope - I remember that you PM'd me for information.
It's great that you're able to help others too.

I'm surprised that Jim's onc with see him for a further five years - if not CT scans, what kind of follow up with he receive from his onc?

best wishes and may Jim remain NED always!
